terri shiavo blog post

terri shiavo was in a famous case where she collapsed of s heart attack in her home on Febuary 25th 1990. She suffered massive brain damage due to lack of oxygen and she fell into a coma. After 2 and a half monthes in her coma she was diagnosed with vegetative state. Over the course of a few yearsdoctor tried to bring her back into the state of awareness through physical therapy, speech, and other experimental therapies. In 1998 terris husband petitioned the sixth circuit court of flordia to remove the feeding tube, he was opposed by terris parents, Robert and Mary Schindler who argued that she was still concious. The court determined that she would not want to be kept alive and removed her feeding tube on April 21st 2001 only to reinsert it a few days later, but the tube was finslly removed in 2005 and terri shiavo died on march 31st 2005. Now the ethical question is do you believe that the desision made on terri shiavo was justified? Obviously it could be yes or no. But i believe that it is no the desicion was not justified. It wasnt becsause I believe that the desicion was terris and terris alone. Since she didnt make out any files about what to do while in this vegetative state they should have just tried and help her recover. Who are her husband and family, why would they get to make that desision on terris life i think that the only person qualified to make that desicion was terri and since she was able to they should have just left her as she was. I'm choosing to answer whether Terri shiavo is a person? And is she the she person? She is a person. The reason she is a person is because she has a brain DNA a heart. All of which are characteristics of a person. But I don't believe she is the same person. If she woke up from the coma she wouldn't have been the same person. But the main reason she isn't the same person is because she can't interact with others she has to eat through a tube and other people are making her desicions. When it comes to genome testing I believe that it is important you someone to know as much about themselves as possible. I think that this is important because people need to know how to treat their bodies. For example if you have a rare cancer with Norway to treat it a d the doctors decide not to tell you that is wrong, because what if you want to do something g before your life is ruined or maybe go somewhere. You might not be able to do that before the cancer starts effecting you. My personal limits are that I want to know everything about me no matter what, regardless of how bad it is. What I would do if I were the doctor is that I would tell the patient because it is my duty to tell the truth. What I would do if. We're a parent is that I would let the doctor tell me and then tell my child when the time is right? I think that the child should know when they are old enough to understand like around 16.

i believe that after we die are online identity should be left up but frozen. Someones facebook page should be left the same way they left it. I dont think i should be changed or memorialized unless that is what the person who died said that they wanted it to be memorialized. Also i do believe that it should live on. Wh else has the right to go on to someone elses Facebook or Twitter account and disable/memorialize it. Noone does! No i do not belive that our families should gain control of their diceased family memer. I think this because they dont have the right. For example what if the person that had died was very secretive and didnt like everyone knowing about his personal life. If one family member got a hold of it they may tell everyone else and that is not what that dead person would want. Also i do believe that the online identity could live on but i do not think that it should live on.

new years

I am anti newyears resolution because i think that many people set new years goals and most of the time they do not complete/fulill them. Also because new years goals just add on extra stress, withou new years goals you have one less thing to think about. Also i dont believ in them because of the fact that people should be making goals a throughout the year and not just in the beggining of the year.

Google 20% project

The materials that I plan on needing are my skateboard, video camera and the Internet. I plan on using my skateboard and the video to make a skate video . I plan on using the Internet for research. A couple of obstacles I plan in facing is making the skate video . This takes a long time and it is very hard to get good video clips. A couple of people that I would like to interview are maybe some pro or ameture skateboarder. Maybe tom asta or Chris cole from reign skate shop. What I would like to learn from this is the physics . How much force is put into the pop of an Ollie, or the rotation of the kick flip. I would also like to learn about the physics of surfing, for example why does the fin keep the surfboard from falling over. Also I would like to learn the origanum from both of these things. Chris Langen

I believe that Chris Langan is very successful. I believe this for many reasons. First of all my definition if success is to be happy with yourself, and to me Chris Langan seems to be very happy with his life. In the show Chris Langan has a wife and he is winning lots of money. That to me would be very successful , and to top it all of he is the smartest man in the world. Also in the book it tells you how he just couldn't get through college. He was kicked out of multiple colleges and he didn't give up until he SUCCEEDED to me Chis Langan is a very successful man.

My Name is Michael Cottrell and i am in 9th grade. I like to do many things including : going to the beach , skateboarding, playing baseball, playing basketball, surfing, hanging out with my friends, going to the movies, going to the mall, playing video games, and watching football. A couple of things that i don't like to do are : run, go on airplanes, waking up, going to school, having bad grades, getting in trouble, doing homework, roller coasters, getting sick , and getting hurt. The highlight of my summer was going to the beach and learning how to surf. The unit that i am looking forward to the mos is the 20% project.

Myths and truths

There are many myths and truths about being gifted. One myth is that gifted children don't need help they will do fine on there own. I believe that this is one of the biggest myths of all. The truth is that Sometimes gifted children are so far ahead that they are bored with there work and will simply not want to do it because it seems pointless to them. This is where the teachers are needed to come in and help. The teachers need to challenge them and help them become even smarter rather than keeping them at the same level of knowledge that they came in to the year knowing. Another myth is that all children are gifted. This is a myth beCause although all children are good at something gifted children excel in multiple areas. The truth is that giftedchildren are experts in certain subjects compared to there fellow classmates. Often the gifted children come into the school year knowing part of the curriculum. For example this year in the geometry program here at my school I came into this year thinking I would be challenged but after the first two quizzes I realized that I a,ready knew much of the stuff we are working on. But in being gifted there are some downs. First of all one down part about being gifted Is that people expect so much out of you. For example my parents keep pushing me and pushing to do better and sometimes I feel like I am doing the best that I can. Also another down part is that just because your gifted some of the Students and even the teachers see you different and sometimes you just we to be like everyone else. Sorry I forgot to post it.

Accumulative advantage

I am on Wangs side. I am on his side because I believe that you should put your kids into kindergarten when they are supposed to. I,like Wang believe that the accumulative advantage isn't that great. It most likely would wear off before you go into first grade. Also if you hold a kindergarten kid back an extra year he will already know most of the material and he/she will become uninterested and not want to participate in class.He/sheWill be at the same place as the rest of his/her peers at the end of the year. because the teachers will teach the same curriculum to the whole class regardless of where the child is.

My favorite part of ROGATE class was the 20% project. I liked this the best becuase we got to chose whatever we wanted to learn about and learn a whole lot about it. It gives us lots of freedom and independence. My favorite project was again the 20% project because it gave us idependence and freedom. Blogs can be more effective because you can comment on blogpost and give people more ideas on the subject they wrote about. Yes i am taking this class next year. what i will miss most about middle school is my friends that are going to different schools. I dont have many questions about the highschool at all. My plans for the summer are togo to the beach and hang out with my friends.

The items that I would back on kickstarter would be remee. This cost $80 and is very cool because it lets you control your dreams.Another thing that I would pledge for is $250 towards a human powered helecopter i would pledge for this because it is a very advanced item meaning that it may advance the science that we know. Finally I would pledge the rest of my money towards Meet Roy this is a full scale robot

I think that using your time to learn about something you like for just 20 % of time is an excellent idea because many great ideas come from people who arent exactly looking for something specific and they find great things. For example during this time when they were working on this project A group of researchers from google won the noble peace prize beause they found the thinnest strongest metal in the world.

The overall react to the film was that it was a very interesting film.I think that it really shows you how good that I have it and that whenever i want something because i want something, I can just think that what do people in Third world countries have. My opinion changed through the movie because at first i thought they were all dirty people and that they were all bad people. But i learned that they are good people but they are just unlucky. Vik Munez helped the people in many ways. He tought them that they can acheive anything if they just try. They can get out of the garbage dumps and have a better life.Yes,I believe that it is better to have an honest dob instead of a dihonest post because an honest job at least you can go to bed everynght knowing that you are trying and working honest work. Yes, the video did make me think how much garbage I make . I dont think about how much i make in a day but more like a year. I think that i might make close to 1,000 pounds of garbage. I dont think the video will make me change the way a that I dispose of garbeage because i am to lazy to actually do something different . That would require more work. I think that another area that could be touched with Vik Munez is some place out in africa where they have even less than the people in brazil.
